On Saturday 1 November 2025, the Vegecareian Festival returns to the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion near Bendigo, and this dog-friendly event is bringing together vegetarian food, multicultural celebration, and furry friends in one spectacular day out.

The Only Festival Where Your Dog Can Get a Buddhist Blessing

The Buddhist Animal Blessing is the heart of the festival. At 2pm, pets of all shapes and sizes will step inside the awe-inspiring Stupa, where monks and nuns offer individual blessings for health, happiness, and harmony. Whether your companion is a goofy Labrador, a calm greyhound, or a rescue mutt with a big heart, it’s a tradition that draws pet lovers back year after year for its mix of serenity, connection, and tail wags

Global Vegetarian & Vegan Eats

Savour plant-based dishes from every corner of the globe. Wander the market area and discover artisan vegan goods, eco-friendly products, and unique crafts, all with live music floating through the air.

Wellness Zone

Train: V/Line to Bendigo or Eaglehawk, then taxi to the Great Stupa. (Note: no direct public transport to the venue.)
